Below is a general guide on what types of arrangements are appropriate to send, given your relationship to the deceased and to the family

Funeral flowers sent by immediate family
A coffin spray is most commonly a fitting floral tribute given by a member of the immediate family; the spouse, children, or siblings of the deceased.
The coffin spray is both a tribute flower arrangement, and a personal reflection of the deceased. You can select a funeral arrangement in their favourite colours, favourite flowers or with a seasonal theme, such as a spring or autumn coffin sprays.

An infant coffin spray needs to express the purity and innocence of their lives. The colours and types of flowers for a child’s coffin spray can beautifully complement those of the coffin itself, which is often white, pink or blue.  

Coffin sprays can also focus on the hobbies or passions of the deceased, tributes such as a Golf bag, Cricket bat, Star of David, Teddy bear or Bunny rabbit, Shamrock, Angler, Football shirt, Guiness glass, Beer mug, Guitar, Cat, Dog, Motorcycle, Tractor, the list is endless. A memorial wreath honours the military service of the deceased, and can be personalised to the regiment of the military in which they served.

It is also appropriate for immediate family members to send personal tributes such as Letters – HUSBAND, WIFE, MUM, DAD, GRANDAD, AUNTIE, etc. Other options are a Heart shaped wreath, Cross wreath or a large double sided spray. Often family members may pool together to send one large tribute or a selection of traditional and novelty tributes. We can include a ribbon printed with the name of the deceased or your personal message to the funeral tribute of your choice.

Sympathy tributes sent by Friends and Work colleagues
Depending on your relationship, a sympathy card would be an appropriate way of expressing your condolences for the family. Friends and close work colleagues will generally send a funeral tribute as a group. Fitting tributes to the deceased are sheaf bouquets, basket arrangements or large funeral sprays which would be appropriate for the funeral service.

If you are unable to attend the funeral service, it is quite fitting to send a gesture of sympathy to the family’s home. Suitable choices for a floral tribute to the home could be an Aqua pack flower arrangement (ideal as no vase is required), a basket arrangement or a blooming plant.

Funeral flowers to send for Cremations
Cremations have become an alternative for many families that previously opted for burials. A standard funeral service is in the Chapel at the crematorium and the cremation occurs following the funeral service. All types of sympathy flowers are suitable and can be delivered directly to the Crematorium on the day or alternatively to your designated Funeral directors the day before the funeral.

Balloons for Funerals

There are several ways in which balloons can be used to say goodbye to a loved one at a funeral.

One or two clusters of helium filled balloons at the church entrance or placed on either side of the casket at the altar, can give an uplifting atmosphere of celebration rather than mourning the passing away of a loved one.

Balloon releases at a funeral is an effective way of incorporating balloons into a service. Releasing the balloons and watching them ascend is a very poignant and solemn act of saying goodbye to a loved one. This is particularly memorable for children at a funeral. Relatives can write messages onto paper notes which is then rolled up and inserted in the balloons before they are helium filled. 

A child sending off one or more balloons to Grandad, Grandma or to a sibling who has passed away.

A balloon release is also ideal for school pupils to say goodbye to a classmate.
