Balloons at Funerals

There are several ways in which balloons can be used to say goodbye to a loved one at a funeral.

One or two clusters of balloons either at the church entrance or placed on either side of the coffin at the altar, can give an uplifting atmosphere of celebration rather than mourning their death.

Balloon releases at a funeral is an effective way of incorporating balloons into a service. Releasing the balloons and watching them ascend is a very poignant and solemn act of saying goodbye to a loved one. This is particularly memorable for children at a funeral.
  • Relatives can write messages onto paper notes which is then rolled up and inserted in the balloons before they are inflated.
  • A child sending off one or more balloons to Grandad, Grandma or to a sibling who has passed away.
  • A balloon release is also ideal for school pupils to say goodbye to a classmate.
